Llanidloes Town Council is housed in the Town Hall, a listed building given to the town by the Davies family of Llandinam. The Council meets on the fourth Monday of each month in the beautiful oak-panelled Council Chamber. This room is now licensed for marriages and anyone interested in booking it for a wedding should contact the Town Clerk for details.

The community of Llanbrynmair - St. Mary's on the Hill - is so called because of the position and dedication of its Parish church, which stands on the very summit of a rounded hill. The earliest relics from recorded time are the Parish Church at Llan and Y Domen Fawr - The Great Mound - in the hamlet of Tafolwern where the prince poet, Owain Cyfeiliog resided in the "costly gilded castle".

Llanfyllin Town Council

Llanfyllin has a long and interesting history. It is set in a deep valley surrounded by gently rolling hills which are typical of Mid-Wales. Tradition alludes to Saint Myllin, the 7th century Celt, as the first cleric to baptise by total immersion in his holy well. The town is named after him and the church is also dedicated to St Myllin.
