Glanusk Park and Estate is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Usk Valley around Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Estate has been in the ownership of the same family since 1826 when the South Wales Ironmaster, Sir Joseph Bailey, purchased the original site and built a mansion house there. The cottages are available for use by Scouts and Guides, throughout the year. Camping is normally only permitted during the season Easter to October. Ty-Hir consists of a pair of semi-detached cottages, Glan yr Afon (Welsh-Riverside) and Ger y Ffordd (Welsh-Roadside) with five acres of grassland for camping, toilet block, drying rooms and washrooms.
