Gwent Photographic & Digital Imaging Society

We cater for photographers of all levels of skill, from beginners to advanced, and in all branches of photography. The club also encourages the use of a variety of techniques, including digital imaging. We have studio lighting and backdrops for studio work as well as projectors for slide work and Digital Imaging.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts

Stagecoach is Britain’s largest part-time theatre school. Many young people have experienced and enjoyed the training they’ve received in the performing arts and several students have gone on to further their education at college and on the professional stage.

Newport Local History Society

Newport Local History Society was founded in 1984 by a group of local people with the aim of encouraging an interest in the past of our town. The society has grown considerably over the years, it currently has a membership of approximately 130 people.

Friends of the Newport Ship

Dedicated to the promotion of the Newport Medieval Ship. The site includes masses of information about the history of this 15th century ship, its discovery on the banks of the River Usk in central Newport, the excavation and the recovery of hundreds of mediaeval artifacts from within the ship. There are members pages with the latest news and copies of SOS - the Newsletter for Friends of the Newport Ship.

Since 1986 Independent Ballet Wales has presented a high standard of classical ballet in an unpretentious and original way. The company regularly asks venues to keep their ticket prices to a minimum and we go out of our way to ensure that we remain accessible to all types of people through our workshops and classes.
