The Society is recognised by the Civic Trust for Wales, and by Gwynedd County Council for the purpose of development consultation. CARIAD (formerly CAZS Natural Resources) is a semi-autonomous self-funding centre within the College of Natural Sciences, Bangor University. The centre has over 20 years\' experience of rural development work in some of the world\'s poorest countries. A central focus of CARIAD is the promotion of agricultural and forestry development and the provision of technological and scientific innovation to improve natural resource development and management.

Gwynedd Archaeological Trust

The Trust was formed in 1974 as an educational charity to inform the public on archaeological matters, to respond to increasing threats to the archaeology of the area, and to educate in the broadest sense. It now offers a wide range of archaeological services and has a depth of local knowledge about the archaeology and historic landscapes of north-west Wales.
