The roots of Côr Meibion Cymraeg stretch back in history to when in the mid 1850\'s, a large group of Welsh Quarrymen, who had been on the work force of the Menai Suspension Bridge, came to Montreal after its completion. A contract had been given to start work on the construction of the Victoria Bridge to span the St. Lawrence River. These quarrymen quickly organized themselves into a choral group.

Cardiff Polyphonic Choir has a proud history. The Choir has been an ambassador for Welsh music, touring the USA on nine occasions. Its tours of Italy, Brittany, Austria, Germany, Canada, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Prague have helped to earn the choir’s international reputation. At home, too, the Choir’s reputation is strong.
