The Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir was formed in 1980 by a few enthusiastic members of the Vancouver Welsh Society. The choir has grown from eighteen to over one hundred singers and now has men of varied national and ethnic backgrounds. The roots of Côr Meibion Cymraeg stretch back in history to when in the mid 1850's, a large group of Welsh Quarrymen, who had been on the work force of the Menai Suspension Bridge, came to Montreal after its completion. A contract had been given to start work on the construction of the Victoria Bridge to span the St. Lawrence River. This is the web site of Mold and District Choral Society. A community choir that sings the major works of the choral repertoire. The choir gives a Christmas concert and a concert in the spring of each year. The choir also from time to time tours, most recently to Cork. We are a mixed choir currently numbering 18 singers which specialises in Early Music and the Baroque. We are led by Andrew Wilson-Dickson and rehearse in Cardiff on Tuesdays in the 6 weeks before a concert. We do about 2/3 concerts per year. Potential members should be experienced choral singers and be good sight readers.
