The roots of Côr Meibion Cymraeg stretch back in history to when in the mid 1850's, a large group of Welsh Quarrymen, who had been on the work force of the Menai Suspension Bridge, came to Montreal after its completion. A contract had been given to start work on the construction of the Victoria Bridge to span the St. Lawrence River. We are a mixed choir currently numbering 18 singers which specialises in Early Music and the Baroque. We are led by Andrew Wilson-Dickson and rehearse in Cardiff on Tuesdays in the 6 weeks before a concert. We do about 2/3 concerts per year. Potential members should be experienced choral singers and be good sight readers.
