The Trust was formed in 1974 as an educational charity to inform the public on archaeological matters, to respond to increasing threats to the archaeology of the area, and to educate in the broadest sense. It now offers a wide range of archaeological services and has a depth of local knowledge about the archaeology and historic landscapes of north-west Wales.
Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort

Castell Henllys is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and one of many prehistoric promontory forts in the National Park dating to around 600BC. What makes this site particularly important is that archaeologists have been excavating here for nearly twenty years and thatched Iron Age buildings have been reconstructed on their original foundations.
